Becki has been in recruitment since 2007, starting out in healthcare before realising she craved something more creative and fast-paced. In 2012, she found her perfect fit in marketing recruitment—especially the agency world, which suits her personality to a tee!

In 2021, she took the leap and launched ThePlaceToBe with a mission to change the perception of recruiters and bring proper recruitment consultancy back, focusing on understanding clients challenges and providing proper solutions. All through real relationships, meeting people, and truly understanding both clients and candidates. Now specialising in senior appointments and working closely with owners of small to medium-sized agencies not just find top talent but also build growth and team strategies that set them up for long-term success. With years of experience and an enviable network, Becki thrives on solving even the trickiest client briefs.

Outside of work, you’ll find her hanging out with her husband, Bella, her Italian Greyhound, her two mischievous cats, Dizzy and Rascal and her circle of friends. She’s a big fan of eating out, dog walks, holidays and a good catch-up over drinks!

Romy spent over a decade in the fast-paced world of fashion, building an impressive track record in account management, relationship building, and driving sales with some of London’s biggest fashion brands. After an adventure in Sweden, she made her way back to Yorkshire and found her perfect fit at ThePlaceToBe.

With a strong network of Client Services specialists, Romy partners with some of Yorkshire’s top agencies, known for her ability to match talent not just on skills but on culture fit, too. Her reputation is built on trust, insight, and an instinct for finding the perfect match.

Outside of work? Romy is CEO of a very busy household, mum to two little ones (soon to be three!), wife to a Welsh Geordie, and currently navigating the chaos of a house renovation. Superwoman? Pretty much!

Ange started her career in a buzzing marketing agency, mastering the world of production and print buying before making the leap to Account Manager. This gave her a real, behind-the-scenes understanding of agency life—so when she moved into recruitment in 2011, she knew exactly what creatives needed (sometimes before they did!).

She briefly dabbled in recruiting for in-house marketing roles but quickly realised her heart belonged in the fast-paced, ever-evolving agency world. Joining ThePlaceToBe brought her back to what she loves most, connecting top creative talent with the best agencies out there. Ange is all about making recruitment exciting. She’s fun, full of energy, and genuinely passionate about helping people find the perfect fit. When she’s not matchmaking talent with agencies, you’ll find her living her best life with her fiancé and their adorable fur babies.

James has been passionate about ICT and Marketing since his early years as a child which progressed him into a Business Computing degree back in 2006. Since graduating, he developed a love for all things people which naturally lead to a career within the recruitment industry. James joined ThePlaceToBe with a wealth of knowledge and experience after 10 successful years working technical/digital marketing recruitment across the London, Leeds and Manchester markets. There is nothing James loves more than helping a candidate in finding their next career step!

JP spends most of his time with his football fanatic daughter, Imogen and watching sport (mostly football, F1 and boxing), reading and DJing (although his rave days are far behind him)

A true creative at heart, Bridie kicked off her career in live music events and marketing before making the leap into agency business development. From touring Europe with Snow Patrol to delivering a public talk on AR in Fintech, she’s never shied away from big moments! Her journey eventually led her into Account Management, focusing on FMCG and retail in the beauty space.

With hands-on experience across marketing, social media, PR, and content, Bridie understands the industry inside out. Over the years, she’s built an impressive network and is now bringing her expertise to ThePlaceToBe, connecting top talent with the best opportunities.

Outside of work, you’ll find Bridie experimenting in the kitchen, creating abstract art as a side hustle, or whipping up one of her famous cocktails (weekend treat, anyone?). As a busy single mum to her son, she juggles it all with style—proof that multitasking really is an art!

With over 8 years of experience in both the legal and sales sectors, and 2 years in recruitment, Liam has developed a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the market and, leverages his industry knowledge and network to find the right fit for clients and candidates alike. Liam's big heart and warming personality is extremely well suited to the client services market, making him a natural at fit for ThePlaceToBe

Outside of ThePlaceToBe, Liam is a keen musician who loves nothing more than hitting the town on a weekend and spending his Sundays walking his Chinese Shar Pei, Nelly.

Gee is a creative at heart! Coming from a creative background after living in London for two years, she moved to Leeds and into the recruitment sector in 2021, and never looked back - specialising in marketing roles for the past two years and is now at ThePlaceToBe where she is using her wealth of industry knowledge and passion for the creative sector to source talented people for roles with some of the best agencies in the UK.

In her spare time, you’ll find her either up a climbing wall, at a gig, or on a hike telling everyone it’s not that much further.

ABBY BELL

PR, Social and Content Specialist

Currently on maternity leave, Abby spent 5 years working in recruitment, cutting her teeth in the Construction sector, including Executive Search across a Northern remit. Following that, Abby has more recently been working for Amazon alongside Selling Partners by recruiting them to join an internal Partnership Programme. Here she helps them grow their business even further on the world's largest e-commerce platform, focusing heavily on their marketing strategy. Abby came to The Place to Be to couple her strong interest in marketing and consumer behaviour with her career in recruitment. 

Likes - reality TV, cooking and eating out, drinking wine, enjoying being newly engaged and taking photos of their North Macedonian rescue dog, Missy.

BELLA

Chief Morale Officer & Head of Security

Meet Bella, the real boss of ThePlaceToBe. As both Chief Morale Officer and Head of Security, she takes a dual approach to office life—keeping spirits high while making sure no rival recruiters sneak in unannounced. Her day is a busy mix of greeting visitors with enthusiastic zoomies, keeping a watchful eye (and nose) on snack distribution, and ensuring the team stays motivated—mainly by looking adorable until she’s rewarded with treats. Ever-vigilant, she protects the office from any suspicious activity, particularly if it involves unclaimed biscuits. 

Fiercely loyal and always on duty (unless it’s nap time), Bella is the true MVP of the team. Approach with caution… unless you come bearing snacks.
